SPOILERS: Penalty for sneaky?
So I noticed that in the cutscenes where the Khan is speaking to Jin's uncle that he specifically mentions Jin stabbing mongols in the back and Jin's uncle clearly doesn't to believe it.

My question is, since they make it a point early on to say that it's not honorable, does using assassinate on enemies have any tangible effect on anything between Jin and his uncle?

it does not have any impact on the story, the only impact is the weather, if you fight dishonorably you will have storms and rain way more often, if you fight honorably the weather will be way more nice.

Jin using assassination is unavoidable....theres a cutscene of him doing it. Only thing that changes is the weather.

Honestly the whole "honor" thing is nonsense. Real samurai didnt give 2 sh*ts how they killed people. Winning is winning to them. Bushido was about how to act outside of combat.

Ol hypocrite Ishikawa would like you to know an arrow flanking your troops from hundreds of yards away hidden in the mountains and forests is honorable as a clear day as it rips through your backside and that his ego is bigger than Mt. Tai.

I also found it hilarious Khan or whatever his name was complained about Jin's honor to the guy behind bars, meanwhile Khan himself through wine and lit a guy on fire mid conversation. *rollseyes*
