-has no idea what a memory leak is.
Don't know why you are being like this. There are people having issues with the game, if it isn't a memory leak okay great, but there is something wrong.
Ever since I unlocked Act 2 and the bigger island above the starter one, the games performance has been utterly terrible no matter what settings I change. Doesn't get bad hours later, it is bad all the time.
Even dropped the game down to 1080p and it doesn't matter, still runs terribly. Low frame rate and stuttering. Tried different drivers, all kinds of different settings. Nothing changes.
lol..You seriously don't know what a memory leak is..
I'm "being like this" because regardless of issues, ignorantly throwing around specific terms is misleading. I'm not saying you don't have issues. I'm sure you do.
I have none and it's because I am meticulous and relentless, not because I went on steam and spouted jargon I don't understand.
what he describes is exactly what a memory leak looks like. it might not be but the the idea that you can just dismiss it out of hand and blame it on some mysterious background process is ridiculous, especially when people have been talking about it here for days.
Whatever it is they really need to put out a patch. Almost a week after launch and a ton of people are having crashes still. This is the only game that I've played in the past year that has caused this many issues for me... Sad because it's a great game aside from this.
Keep in mind it's Steam forums. Probably more than half of the commenters are 18 years or younger.
Then walk the person through how to verify it. Being a pompous prick doesn't help anyone. 🙏

It's your software environment, bad hardware, or cooling, maybe all of them, who knows.
