Trench Crusade: The Game

As early in development as it is the art, world view, and graphics all feel really good. I'm just not really sure what the end product as far as gameplay goes is.

The time period and weapons should means no suppressors, there are no take downs from behind, but enemies aren't immediately aware so it kind of stealth? It's a third person shooter with abilities but its more about shooting, positioning, and grenade use than spamming abilities. It's not cover to cover since a lot of the cover is destructible. You get health and ammo from kills like cod, find weapon mods from exploring and merchants like an MMO, and have shrines that combo for utility, spawn points, skill changes, and possibly skill upgrades like dark souls. I have no idea how it gels when finished but I have full faith in the dev(s) based off what I've seen so far.

The story is something I haven't played far enough to really know how good it is but again, from what I have seen, it's going to be good. I haven't seen any cut scenes but there's are some intractable characters I have found that partially are voiced but kind of explain what's happening or gives quests/ objectives. Other then that I don't even have 5 hours playtime so I'm not really sure what all they have or plan to add.

So far, in the alpha, I'm liking the ground work and have very few complaints with the introduction. The only questions I really have are about the art work and world building so I can't wait to see what comes next.

P.S. - I'm writing this more as a personal footnote than as a review. I'm just too broke to buy office and too lazy to open google docs.

Trench Crusade is not even remotely the first ip to use this setting. WW1 trench horror has been around for decades.
