EA Origin (Titanfall 2) with Proton not working
Hi, recently, Titanfall 2, which requires EA Origin stopped working for me. It used to work just fine, but after I updated Origin, it stopped working. Now every time I try to launch it, it prompts me to install Origin again and after going through the install again, it just doesn't start. I tried all the newer Proton versions, but nothing works. Does anyone have any idea what it could be caused by and how it can be solved? Thanks

Maybe try an older Proton version. It played fine for me a year or so ago. That would have been a high-4 or low-5 version of Proton. You can download old versions from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton. Select the version from the left-side dropdown, then the green "Code" button on the right => "Download Zip" and install to your .../.local/share/Steam/compatibility.d folder. Restart Steam and pick the newly-installed version.
Thanks for the reply, sadly that doesn't work for me. I tried proton 4.2-9, 4.11-13 and 5.0-10, and it always does the same thing, it always tries to install Origin again and then freezes on the installing... dialog. The furthest I've gotten was with Proton 6.3-6, in this it seems to install, but then doesn't launch. It's strange, because it used to work fine for me as well, just a few weeks ago, but recently it suddenly stopped working even with the proton version I've used before without any problem.
