New into linux install gaming so having problems haha
https://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/0/1636417404917541481/
did you test any other game already, just to rule out issues that may affect proton in general?
what is your GPU / integrated graphics brand (Nvidia, AMD, Intel)?
You're probably going to need Proton GE as others mentioned, but besides that you may need to install a couple more compone to keep 32-bit games happy...
Intel
Not tested any other games, was the first
New into Linux gaming ( a mess)
I have tried to install some issues like wine and liquid kernel and...lot of problems now I get an error profile when I reboot linux, Some fix for these one ?
Please can you guide me ?
Thanks a lot
There are free-to-play games in both cases if you have none in your steam account yet.
For Intel integrated gpus there isn't much you need to do, unless it's very recent or very old hardware, you just need to make sure mesa vulkan libs and 32bit libs for vulkan and opengl are installed:
via terminal
or
via "Software Manager" do Linux Mint
Usually you'll get help pojnting out how to do things via the terminal. It is easier to explain and easier to report the outcome in written forums that way. It doesn't mean linux is impossible to use via graphical interface, so don't be scared away by it.
In this case I use Linux Mint too so it's easier for me to guide you through the graphical interface of that particular distro too. It takes a little time, but eventually you might get used to reading instructions for terminal and knowing what they do and how to execute them more conveniently via GUI too.
Custom kernel enthusiasts are crazy people who swear that this is awesome, makes a world of difference, how does everyone else live without it?! ...but honestly it's absolutely optional, everything should run just fine without them and the performance gains are not that big (if any) in most cases... so not something a new user should waste energy doingn and something those enthusiasts should be more clear about.
That being said, newer versions of the normal linux kernel than the versions made available by Ubuntu are sometimes necessary in case you have very recent hardware... because it takes time for a linux distro to get the last version of each component and integrate > test > ship it for users... this is especially true for Ubuntu and derivates like Linux Mint (for understandable reasons, pros and cons, etc)
Since LM 20 is quite recent, this is probably not needed and you can revert back to normal kernels, which may help with those new issues you got after that custom kernel was installed.
top man there! I guess must be a problem with this game
Seems already installed :
