I am downloading Catalyst 13.4 for Linux x86_64 for my HD6670 right now!

My TF2 crashes when i connect to server, after I installed this driver!

I installed this, and if I feel it correct. then there is less stuttering in the image and better vsync when watching HD-material.

It seems like there might be a new dependency on the "python-apport" package under some systems. I noticed that when I last tried this, one of the modules didn't build correctly. Therefore it worked, but horribly buggy due to using the previous module. I gave it another try and noticed the error. After fixing it, 13.4 works pretty well.

Will this ever be ported to "legacy cards"?

I highly doubt there will be much support for "legacy" anything. I think AMD is looking forward, and they seem to be emphasising their all-in-one APUs (I haven't tried gaming on any of those)

I have the current top model APU, the a10-5800K. It works great with Catalyst, which would support your suspicion. Honestly though it is a great budget gaming chip.

Which driver is best for running ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 on Linux?

Give a chance to radeon driver (that used in most of Linux distributions by default) and if it not perform well for you - install latest fglrx driver.

Yeah, the Free Radeon driver is always better than fglrx, except for raw 3d speed. Radeon is better for almost everything else.

fglrx works but sucks at lot, the radeon driver u were speaking about was catalyst or something else?
