Password for ubuntu
ok... so... to install steam its asking me for a password and i have no clue what it is, ive tried guessing the obvious e.g: password, pass, admin, linux, ubuntu. but non of that has worked f anyone knows the pass can u please tell me (i havent set a pass as far as i know)

If it's your sudo password, it should just be your password.

Read a touch on sudo, it's not complicated but helpful info.

You would have set the password during the OS install. So whatever password you selected when entering your User ID.

authentication as the super user is required to perform this action.

During the normal Ubuntu install process you set a User Name / Password, was this not the case with your install? If not how did you install Ubuntu ?

You have separate threads on the same issue with 2 separate problems stated. Please don't do this. You need to find your password, if you didn't set it yourself and are using some pre-done VM deal.

or its the passphrase, when its different from ur sudo password...u must know it
