Steam does'nt find the drivers and i can't find them either, if someone has it please give me a download link.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Legacy/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx is an amd page discussing the installation of the drivers for Linux. Depending on your Distro the following wiki which is located top right under helpful links from amd might be helpful as well. http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Main_Page On the right hand side there are links to several Distro's. Hope it helps you.

Your card is ancient. I had two X1950s, and that driver was discontinued for Ubuntu newer than 8.04. It won't work.

Install old Linux distribution: Fedora 10, openSUSE 11.1, Ubuntu 810. Update glibc to 2.15, and gcc to 4.6 using SRPM's ot DEB-SRC (it will be hard). Install latest ATi driver for your videocard version 9.3. Try to run Steam, use "ldd" to watch what library from /usr/lib you need update.
