The best compatibility tool for Unity games
Pretty straight forward, which is the most recommended compatibility tool for unity games?

Define 'compatibility tool' ...

... if you are asking, how and what to use to run Unity engine games on Linux: WINE and Proton do both the trick (same thing, in the end). Not sure, if there are other 'compatibility tools' out there. Except for Codeweavers CrossOver (which is now part of Proton).
Unity games work fine with Proton.

There should not be much problem with Windows Unity games, the latest compatibility tools you can get should be fine. If your results are not satisfactory, then you can try older protons or wine runners + dxvk etc.

Linux native Unity games will be a crap shoot though. Some work well, but some ports are just bloody awful.
I think he means a Wine manager such as Bottles, Lutris, or Heroic game launcher.

All are good for Unity games, Unity really likes Linux. I have had great results with Unity games, they typically run much better on Linux than Windows. I am not sure about Linux Unity games.

In general.

Lutris - Best compatibility and performance, but takes longer to launch games.

Bottles - Best performance but some games (that work on Lutris) do not work well if at all. Has issues when using GE-Proton sometimes. Has a toggle for Latency Flex. Fastest launch times for programs. Generally does not need Winetricks because it has a dependency downloader/installer.

Heroic games Launcher - Simple and nice looking, and available as an Appimage. I don't use Heroic anymore.

Steam could also be used but it has the longest launch times.

It would be cool if Lubtris, Bottles, and Heroic were combined.:cleancake:
There is no "best" one for me. Different games, different tools, different reasons. I use Steam, Lutris, Heroic Launcher and Bottles.
