Recording/clip playback does not work
So I have just started using the new Steam recording feature, and for the most part it is really awesome. It is so much more performant than using OBS's replay buffer feature which is great because my GPU is a bit old (1070). I'm so glad this exists and has all the same features on Linux.

The only problem that I have had with it so far is that actually playing and recordings or clips made with this feature does not work. Whenever I try to play anything, I get a blank screen with the blue loading icon that animates indefinitely. Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about. [i.postimg.cc]This happens both in the Steam client, as well as in the Steam overlay. Hovering the timeline shows me accurate thumbnails for the recording/clip, and exporting a clip to a video file works just fine. Copying the file and creating a quick share link to the clip works just fine as well. I haven't found any part of the Steam recording suite that isn't working besides the playback.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? I tried searching the Linux sub-forum and didn't see any other posts about this. I installed ffmpeg just on the off chance it might help and no dice. It probably is irrelevant, but just on the off chance it matters, I am using NixOS 24.11 with Qtile as my window manager.

Thanks a bunch for any help or information you can provide! :steamhappy:

Same issue here with Pop! OS and KDE Plasma.
Nobara 41, KDE Wayland here, same problem. Looks to be fairly agnostic of an issue.
Anyone ever find a fix for this issue?
