Steam for Linux

Steam on #!CrunchBang Linux.
Right now I have a computer running #!CrunchBang Linux which is based on debian 7 wheezy. Is there any chance that I could get steam to work on this distro? How would I go about doing this because I've had trouble in the past getting steam to work on debian 7.

For Debian Jessie 32 bit, it is as hard as typing "aptitude install steam". For 64 bit, you need 3 commands more. Don't know about "CrunchBang", but it shouldn't be much harder there if they are doing their work.

#!CrunchBang is very close to original debian 7 wheezy, there's not much of a difference besides the openbox based UI that everyone loves. Do you know the instructions to get steam on this version of debian? It's not in the repos.

In the Wheezy repos, there's a Steam installer.

Here's how I got Steam on Wheezy:

But I would use Jessie instead. Never heard of this "openbox based UI everyone loves", I like KDE.

I would recommend checking out crunchbang, it just got discontinued but a new project (crunchbang++) may be successful at continuing it.

#!CrunchBang linux (discontinued since about a month ago)

#!CrunchBang++ (project to revive crunchbang)

Thanks, but I'm the opposite of the distro hopper - 16 years a happy Debian user. :)
