SimpleScreenRecorder and Nvidia GPU, tearing issue.
I use SimpleScreenRecorder to record gameplays, and it works fine, however, in order to use SSR I have to disable "Flipping" on Nvidia Settings, otherwise the video becomes laggy. The thing is, when you disable Flipping, Nvidia drivers lost it's V-Sync functionality. This is not a issue when I record gameplays, since I always play with V-Sync off, but it's a issue when I want to record my desktop.

My question is: Is there any way to disable Flipping without losing V-Sync functionality in the desktop?

I'm using Linux Mint 17.2 (Cinnamon) and I have the latest Nvidia driver, version 352.41.

The Nvidia sub forum is for issues regarding Steam and/or Steam games, my question is not about Steam and/or games, that's why I posted in the "General Discussions" forum.
Why not use OBS for linux?
You have to disable Flipping in order to record a video, regardless of the program.

Okay, well, I just downloaded SimpleScreenRecorder and made a short test video to see. I didn't disable anything and just used the default settings. Recorded a bit of desktop, then some in-game stuff. Played back the video with VLC and it looked fine.

The only "issue" I had was that SSR gave a warning message that Flipping on *might* cause glitches, however I just ignored that.

Maybe the issue is with SSR itself or your hardware. I might download OBS later and test that out too. I've used it before and there were no issues, but who knows, that was on Windows.

Either way, I think OBS is a superior program for recording gameplay and streaming. It's great that they brought it to Linux.

If I don't disable flipping it messes up the framerate of the recorded footage, it's like playing the video in slow motion. It also causes occasional artifacts on the image.

I already tested OBS, although OBS is a great tool for streaming, I can't say the same about recording. Even if I record with no compression, the result is clearly inferior compared to SSR. SSR produces identical images when I record with no compression. Besides that, OBS produces the same problems if I record with flipping enabled.

Also, my question is not about what program I should use to record, my question is about how (if possible) I can eliminate tearing when I disable flipping.
