Steam for Linux

Steam for Linux

Steam file issues in duo booting between Windows 11 and Linux Mint 21.
For years I have used a second computer for the times I wanted to use Linux. About two days ago I threw my Linux Mint 512 GB, M2 SSD in my Windows 11 computer and before I knew it grub loader automatically opened the door for duo booting between both OS's and I did no setup work. Cool right? Not quite. I assumed (big mistake) what steam game files I loaded in Linux mint only effected Linux Mint side, right? After duo booting back into Windows 11 I found all my Steam game files had been moved to the hard drives I designated in Mint. Yes I have enough HD space to do this but I was surprised by this moving of my Steam game files between Windows 11 and Linux Mint.

I hope what is going on here makes sense to you readers.

Anyway has this happened to any of you who duo boot between the two OS"s and if it has how do you deal with this issue? What have you done or come up with to make this work? Thank you for your time.

this shouldn't happen at all, and you're the first person ever to report it here in the forums, afaik

did you try to map the games library in the windows partition to steam on linux? are you sure the games were moved, not just replaced by linux native versions in that same library folder when you opened it with linux steam? (which is a common behaviour and windows steam wouldn't recognize or would deem incomplete installs when booting back to windows)
