FIX FOR STEAM MISSING 32 BIT LIBRARIES (Ubuntu)
After formatting my pc about 4 times and reinstalling Steam every single time and Steam not working, I realised I probably did something wrong during the installation. Sometimes Steam gave me the "Missing 32-bit libraries error" and sometimes it would simply refuse to boot at all.

So, I decided to pay VERY close attention to my installation routine, and noticed an error my NVIDIA drivers gave me when attempting to install the 32-bit libraries. It said it was missing a destination folder for them, so it recommended I create a location for said libraries and run the installer again.

After rebooting, I googled about this and oddly enough found very few solutions people had to this, after a quick set of searches I figured this out as the solution:

Step 1:
Install steam:
sudo apt-get install steam
Step 2:
Run steam (it doesn't matter if it gives errors, or doesn't run at all: just clicking the icon is sufficient).
Step 3:
Run the installation program for your drivers (just google this, shouldn't be hard at all to find).
Step 4:
Run Steam and start downloading games :D

If you were to run into any problems with this method, comment and I'll try to help you out.

Step 0: Ensure your distribution is 32bit or you have taken steps to enable multilib support. Not always available out of the box and you won't get far without it.

Generally, when installing drivers using the official drivers from the distributers website they'll automatically be included (I'm not 100% sure about Radeon drivers, but I am 100% certain about NVidia drivers).

The problem is the drivers are useless if the system you're running doesn't support or have multilib enabled. When in doubt, plug "distroname multilib" into Google!

Yeah, I'm not really familliar with a lot of Linux based systems, that's why I put Ubuntu in the title, it might help others with similar problems.
This is extremely common on Ubuntu, so I'm just trying to help everyone as much as I can. :D

Every credit buddy! I didn't notice the Ubuntu part, sorry. Slackware is the only distro I'm that familiar with and that isn't multilib out of the box so always presumed it might be common across the board.

Ahh, right, right. Always good to learn something about other distro's! ^-^

Could you try this one:

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/7807#issuecomment-861038961

steam --reset

Make sure the option to save password is unchecked.
& it worked for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
