Does anyone know what these files are used for?

I have installed Civilization V, Civilization Beyond Earth and XCOM. Not sure which these titles the files comes from and why they are stored right on my home directory instead the game directory.

Firaxis Games make Xcom, IIRC (or was it Civ? ^_^; ).
Does that game have a launcher that pulls in patches, because it looks like it either got interrupted or it doesn't know how to clean up or where the temporary files should go...
