Football Manager 2022 demo save disappeared upon installing full version

I downloaded the FM22 demo on Ubuntu with Steam, but when I downloaded the full version my save game didn't transfer. As I launched the full game a message came up that said something like: 'If you start the game without syncing with Steamcloud you may lose your saved game. Continue?' I clicked no but then the next time I launched it it opened without the warning message and my save hadn't transferred and was nowhere to be found. I thought the issue was that I wasn't connected to the internet, but I think when I launched it there was a program blocking it. Is there any way I can get my save back?

Thanks for the reply. Tbh I can't find that folder, tried searching my system for it, do you think uninstalling the full game and reinstalling the demo would get it back? Long shot I know but really cba going thru the same half a season again 🙄
