Suggestion for local multiplayer games? Native and/or Proton-Friendly
I'm looking for everyone's suggestions on local multiplayer games, preferably co-op and Steam controller friendly. Price range= free-to-cheap. Bonus points if the game has a very easy learning curve. Native or Proton, Steam or not.

It's nice to play some fun games when family comes over, but I'm running out of options for the games I have. I currently have Overcooked and some of the Jackbox Party games, which all seem to run awesome in Proton and require very little skill to jump-in and start having fun. I also have a large collection of emulators from all the classic games consoles, which are a good fall-back solely because of the nostalgia factor (we usually play Mario Kart 64).

But what are your go-to games to play locally?

That looks fun, I'll definitely wishlist it and see if it goes on sale soon
@Marlock I actually have Don't Starve Together and one of the other Guacamelee games, but I have yet to actually play them. I'm more interested in local multiplayer games, like everyone sitting in the same room playing on the same TV. It looks like Sundered may qualify for that, unless the other games do as well and I never realized it.
Sundered does have couch multiplayer, and AFAIK Guacamelee and Don't Starve do too (they do on the PS4, not 100% sure on PC version is the same, but probably)

BTW, there are 2 dont starve; one called Dont Starve (single Player) and the other called Dont Starve Together. Get the together one! <3

I have both :)
But I don't see anywhere that says Don't Starve Together supports local multiplayer
If I recall correctly and if the game on PC works same way as PS4, you should be able to mix local and remote players, there is no separate mode, just the join screen.

I may be mixing stuff in my head though, since it's been a while.
I use Ubuntu 18.04 and I had no problems with these co-op games:

Cuphead
Sundered
Guacamole
Enter the Gungeon
Guns, Gore & Canoli
Northgard
Castle Crashers
Degress of Separation
Party Hard 1 & 2
Pac Man 256
Trine (1,2,3)
Dont Starve Together

..and more :CatTopHat:
I didn't yet play Octodad, but it looks fun.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
For a dexterity based 'escape-room'-esque game I recommend "Human Fall Flat". Has native compat, local Co-op and online multiplayer to Windows players works fine via Proton as well.

"For the King" is a nice little fantasy D&D-esque roguelite for 3 players which runs natively.
