Yeah no worries, just let me know what you need. :)

once it's finished, you'll be able to install if via Discover store in the Deck's desktop mode, without needing more intrusive efforts
until then:
https://github.com/lutris/lutris/releases/tag/v0.5.10
and here's a step-by-step procedure:
https://www.reddit.com/r/LinuxCrackSupport/comments/tnnq24/how_to_install_lutris_on_steam_deck/
and finally here I found the instructions to put it back in read-only mode after the changes are done (as suggested in the lutris github):

In order to play Ubi games you need to have connect, their launcher.I have used Lutris successfully before by adding connect to Lutris. In Lutris I downloaded connect and the momo(?) components . I used the ones they have during setup even though it says to use the one that came with my installation. I have used this method before with good results. After about an hour of downloading and it installing,I get a 'exit with return code of 256' error and I have to cancel the installation. I did a search and found nothing to help me..
Mark the game you try to start, go to configuiration, go to runner options tick the advanced option in the down left corner find fsync and slide the slider to off. Then the fsync error will disapear, you must do this for all the games in lutris since it seem it defaults to fsync. There are fsync patched cores but it's troublesome to install them, unless you realy know what you're doing. so stick with just disabling fsync and use esync.
Steam and Lutris are two separate programs by different companies. Searching for Lutris information on the Steam forums is like searching for Xbox information on a Playstation forum. That being said, I would rather see someone asking a Linux-gaming related question on the wrong forum, than to never have the question asked at all. I have posted multiple times in the Lutris forums and have never received a reply. Maybe the Lutris forums aren't very popular, or maybe my questions were too hard to answer, but either way I was left on my own.
I have a little bit of experience with Lutris. I use it mainly for the free games from Epic and other random Windows programs. I remember having trouble installing an Ubisoft game, but that game used the Uplay launcher, and not Ubisoft Connect (after more research, I think they they are the same thing now?). In my case I was able to get it working, but it has also been over 2 years ago since I have played any Ubisoft game, so who knows if it still works. Maybe they updated their launcher and it won't work for me either, or maybe there is some sort of "anti cheat" working against you preventing your game from launching.
One Ubisoft game was giving me a bunch of issues with controller connectivity and low framerate. I had to first install Uplay through Lutris, and then install the game through the Uplay store. The game wouldn't launch correctly when trying to launch it through Uplay, so I had to manually open the game with the EXE file, however that would also give me an error because the Uplay launcher wasn't running. So I had to write a custom launch script that would disconnect the controllers if they were already connected (because they would not get recognized until after the game launched for some reason), then open the Uplay launcher and wait until it's PID it is created, then it launches the game through the EXE file, then it reconnects the controllers, and lastly it would kill the Uplay launcher PID because it would cause low framerates if it was running in the background. It took me a while to figure that all out.
At what point does it "exit with code 265"? Does Ubisoft connect even load? Is the game installed and not launching? Can you manually launch the EXE file (maybe add that EXE file as another launcher in Lutris)?
So that is the first thing I would try as maybe you are having some kind of problem with the particular script you are trying, as I don't know what this error 256 you are getting actually is.
The next thing I can tell you is that while playing AC Origins and Odyssey on Steam, the only issues I have ever seen with Connect is it can have a problem when it starts and the splash screen comes up saying "connecting to Ubisoft servers" and it just hangs there unable to connect, so I am unsure if you could be having that type of issue. One thing you could try is to change the version of Wine under Lutris (right click your game, go to configure, select runner options tab and select a different version of wine) Also you can install different version of Wine through Lutris. However, I would suggest downloading Glorious Eggroll's latest version of Wine-GE and manually installing that and try using that version as well.
