KDE Plasma is the best Linux Desktop Interface, Prove me wrong.
It looks very pleasing to the eyes and it is simple to use.

Depends what you want.

I would say Plasma wins in flexibility, ability to add or remove eye candy to your hearts desire, ability to lay out how you want, and a decent easy to use setup from the start. It is also nice and responsive if you need

It's big downside is it's a little heavy on system resources. It's base memory footprint is comparable to the "Leading Win64 API platform" so it isn't lean like some other Linux desktops. It's CPU and GPU demand is a little higher than more lightweight options as well.

XFCE probably is the tightest balance of performance/flexibility, but is far from as pretty. LxQT would be the lightest weight fully integrated desktop.

The most foolproof system is GNOME, but yeah, it's foolproof, not flexible.

As of the most lightweight systems, FluxBox and Suckless systems are by far the lightest out there. Suckless, of course is keyboard based and thus not even for most people. FluxBox type systems feels kind of like a 90s era Unix box, albeit one of those cutting-edge really futuristic ones. They aren't really "Modern User-Friendly Desktop" type things, so much as things nerds like. Also, their capabilities are not unique. You can configure Plasma to behave just like either, if you really wanted to. I don't know why you would want the extra bulk, though.

Still, Plasma is always on the list of desktops EVERY Linux user should consider, and on my list of good options for default desktops for office systems.

haha, the old desktop war again. Well probably a good desktop but the only one I never liked. Actually the look of KDE is one of the things I don't like but hey there is no right or wrong. If it works for you, be happy.

I used XFCE and Mate a long time and happy with Gnome for a few years now.

for old computers, kde is a horror (700mb RAM), Lubuntu (LXQT) uses 260mb RAM
if your computer is powerful... not have problems but a potato-pc of 2010's is bad
:signix:
and i tested: xubuntu, kubuntu, neon kde, lubuntu, debian live, zorin 15 core, zorin 16 lite, pop os, tinycore, fatdog, porteus kde and mate, peppermint, mx fluxbox, linux lite, mint xfce, elive, dsl, reactos and winfreexp
winfreexp run with <200mb but not haved wifi driver so i installed lubuntu and runs better in my netbook Dell Inspiron Duo

Mate pretty good too (gnome 2 was good) but yeah KDE is the best, hope they don't ruin it like gnome.

XFCE

Customizable, classic desktop design sensibilities, and it just works :lunar2019coolpig:
It's the best if you want to tinker and make it "your own"
Gnome is more out of the box in most cases.
Except of fedora. I REALLY need task bar / dock at the bottom.
And a minimize button.

Except for that i really like gnome and kde.
Can't say much about xfce. Just use it on my laptop with Arch. 400mb ram usage on cold boot :D

KDE is very heavy similarly to Gnome. But aside from that. That's a very objective statement.

It used to be the case, but not so much these days. KDE Plasma has gotten a lot better about being "heavy" these days compared to when it was a total resource hog (not so very terribly long ago). Also, I think maybe the word you were seeking there was "subjective"?

Stock kde and gnome are still ok
~1gb at startup.
But with the mods i added. It became 1.5gb Pretty much like windows 10
Gnome on Fedora also takes about 1 gb, but its default apps are more minimalist, so they should be more lightweight.
But since i have 16 gb of ram and want something easy to use. I use gnome ( with few extensions like minimize button, or folders on my desktop)
Or Plasma

Fake news :steamhappy:
After a couple of days with gnome i gotta say.
There is no best enviroment
Gnome is more out of the box
While Plasma gives you more control. I really like both. But when it comes to stock designs, i prefer Gnome. I really don't like this flat, boring design of default kde.

Only thing i miss here on gnome is a proper top panel. (from Latte Dock)
You know like on Macos, where you have many options.
In LibreOffice or vlc, i had those menu bar on the top of the apps, in my panel.
But on Gnome. It's a big, mostly empty, panel.
And it doesn't seem like i can add panel menu. At least there was nothing online.
But except for that, both are good de's
