Steam for Linux

[CLOSED] Steam cannot see the mounted ntfs partition from my windows os
so after a bit of googling and a bit of troubleshooting I am stuck here.

The drive is mounted in /home/user with ntfs-3g and permissions set up allowing me to read write and what not, yet I cannot see the drive mount folder when I try to see it from steam.

I am on the latest pop os and have the flatpak, the .deb wouldn't launch sadly :(

i'm pretty sure steam requires execute permissions specifically to be able to use directories from a mounted drive, is the drive definitely mounted as rw?

Ah I don't think so how do I check? I will try to give steam perms, thanks!

Where are you reading your drive from specifically? Because most disk drives in linux do not mount to /home/user. If you're looking at that from your file manager, that's just a shortcut to the actual directory, which should look something like:
/run/media/user/disk_name
or something similar. I forget how Ubuntu lays it out, but it might be /run or /mnt directory for externally read drives.

Thank you for your help ( I did not read lol ) but I just got it to work like 1 minute ago by uninstalling rebooting and reinstalling the .deb version, thanks though!
