Well, obviously something is not correctly configured.

It is possible that Ubuntu detected your graphic hardware during install and automatically installed the proper 3D drivers for you, where maybe Manjaro might not have? It could be as simple as installing the proper driver package from your package manager. Without more details, it's impossible to know for certain.

I do. But as you didn't say anything about your hardware or driver or other setup, it's hard to tell more...

You need the "proprietary" Nvidia drivers for decent performance.

I got no idea about manjaro, but take a look here:
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php/Configure_Graphics_Cards#Installing_a_Driver
Seems it boils down to:
sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300

The Optimus manager is only to manage which GPU to run, Nvidia or Intel in your case. It could well be that the GPU is running and the non-free nvidia driver is missing - that the games run on the open Nuveau driver, which is very very slow.

Install nvidia proprietary driver via MHWD if you want to play games on it.
