Pacman is broken - valveaur and PGP keys
Hey Arch/Manjaro users.

I'm sure you've noticed that some* installations of Arch and it's derivatives broke back in August, due to the expiration of Brett Cornwall's PGP key used to sign many of the common Arch Linux packages and databases.

After a new key was given out, installing this new key fixed the problem and allowed me to refresh databases and do a full system update again.

However, today when I tried to run pacman -Syu, I was met with this error:

Turns out that Valve AUR is broken this time, tried removing it and that fixed part of the problem

However, after removing this, the brand new Arch keyring is broken too. Bunch of corrupt packages. Not sure what I'm doing wrong there. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not all of them. My Manjaro installation worked quite well, while my ArcoLinux OS was broken. So far I am informed about, only Pacman/Pamac was broken, not AUR. Can't say who is responsible for that.

None of my Arch installs were broken. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Which Steam packages are you using from AUR? My EndeavourOS system is only running multilib/steam.

I... honestly do not remember.

I think Valve had their own Linux kernel fork (like Liquorix) that I was going to try out, but that was long ago. Never got it to work.

Its not broken. I'm not sure what OP is talking about. Running pure arch.

Well, it broke for me, so... Maybe help? I'm not super experienced with Pacman, and researching the problem brought me absolutely no assistance. Keyword: "some*"

Why not? I got my Steam package from Debian's repositories...
