Proton Ge

I want to play Wasteland 3 and I heard that I can/could use Proton GE.
How does it work?
How can I install it?

If your system is compatible with Proton (OS, GPU, ...) then:

Go to Steam->Settings->Steam Play
"Enable Steam Play for supported titles" and "Enable Steam Play for all other titles."

Now, you can try to install and play any Steam windows game.

Download a release from the Releases page.
https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
Create a ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d directory if it does not exist.
Extract the release tarball into ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d/.
Restart Steam.
Enable proton-ge-custom.
