Steam Link - XBOX 360 Controller Issues

I reimaged my raspberry pi with RetroPie 4.4 with Stretch. I have Steam running on my PC and Steam Link running on my pi. I am trying to use my XBOX 360 wireless controller, and wireless receiver (plugged into the pi), to play games via Steam Link. I can navigate through everything, but when I launch a game my controller no longer works...even with games that you can use a controller for. I have no idea how to fix this. Does anyone know what may be going on here, or what I need to do to fix it? Once I launch a game, I can no longer use my 360 controller to play the game. I can only navigate with a keyboard/mouse.

Make sure your controller is fully configured for Steam Link and not just it's client.

Would I do this in Steam Link on my raspberry pi? I believe I already did this, but I can check again.

any progress? I have the exact same setup, but I never get to configure the controller, just ends up with a dialog where it refers me to the manufacturer.

I am rather clueless as to what steps need to be made in order to have my controller recognised properly.

Any input greatly appreciated:-)

On rasperby pi make sure the proper kernel driver is installed (i.e. modprobed). Steamlink on Raspberry Pi is a different build and might not have the module probed by default.

The same happened to me. Plug the controller in your computer instead of in the Raspberry Pi.

I noticed that my controller works fine with native Linux steam games but not Steamplay games. It's a Speedlink Torid wireless.
