maybe. but Mate itself can add to issues with desktop apps. Been there, had crawling redrawing speed on desktop windows and spikes in CPU usage for simple mouse move.
Well I can tell you right now, no. -or at least the beta does not address hyper-active scrolling. It's super annoying. Makes browsing for new games a chore, and makes my hand cramp up.
Is this related to Steam Runtimes too? Like that UTF8 issue with steam chat, overlay and some games?
If it is, using steam with disabled runtimes just might help...
I've never heard of what you're referring to. After a Google search, I'm left more confused. Apparently there's two versions of Steam for Linux? Steam-runtime and steam-native? Is that right? I don't get it. I installed steam from Discovery on Kubuntu. How do I know which one I'm running, and how do I disable Steam runtimes?
I looked in Synaptic, and the only Steam packages are "steam-installer" and "steam:i386", and I have them both installed.
