Steam loses connection
Loses connection and do not even try to reconnect. Just sits there and saying "NO CONNECTION".
Well, reconnect?

Are you able to get online to the Internet and make sure that your modem is working OK?

Yes, I am. Internet works just fine. Steam client just loses connection.

Does this happen after you go out of a system suspension?

yes, it can drop your connection if you played game or if your internet connection is unstable. I have this issue every time I play game for longer than 20-30 minutes. solution: close steam app and open it again, it should look for your network on boot.

My other question is what operating system are you running? Does It say at the bottom of steam no connection because If your running windows that might be the problem?

I get this error all the time on windows 10 and I what is do I keep closing steam down and when I see my wishlist come up then I know everything is loaded in steam. Now If your wishlist never appears then I would contact the steam support ASAP.

I only have a similar problem when starting my machine from a suspension. From my point of view, there is some timeout/keepalive feature that doesn't work very well on the client (my connection eventually is restarted, but takes ~10 minutes). BTW, I've tried to inject a RST packets to what I think is the tcp connection that gives problems but I didn't have any luck doing so :/

Maybe we should ask for a way to force a login/re-connection of the account without having to restart the client?

I've found that the Linux steam client has trouble reconnecting automatically after a minor network disruption. I suspect this is what you are experiencing.

I wish I had a solution for you beyond quitting steam and reloading.

Steam servers aren't the best and I do quite often have issues when I play a game It tries to connect to the cloud or their servers and It fails but If I do again It connects. It would be nice If steam could have better servers then they have right now. I think that this is a lot of their problems It's their servers.

I kept losing connection as well with the network icon becoming a question mark despite saying it was connected. The solution on my Ubuntu at least, was to go:

Settings -> Privacy -> Connectivity Checking

and switch it OFF and then restarted my connection. Stopped losing connectiong from that point onwards.

so Ubuntu's captive-portal / internet-health detection routine was somehow interfering with Steam's connectivity?!

that's quite intriguing, to say the least!

Apparently yeah. Go figure. I asked around a bit as it seemes to be a common enough problem. A friend said this helped her:

https://askubuntu.com/questions/954236/wired-network-connection-keeps-dropping-out-dual-boot

Might be worth checking out if the above doesn't work. If nothing else, I found out my MTUs were a bit smaller than possible.

I hope these'll help people struggling with this.
