Cs:go Wrong monitor, Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Cs:go opens on the wrong monitor whatever i do, changing in the CFG doesn't do anything.
Problem is that i just can't drag it over, i have one 1080p and my main 1440p.
It makes the game resolution all messed up and impossible to click on anything. I need to hover about 5cm over the icons for them to register and i'm not able to press apply. Changing the resolution before i move it doesn't help. I've been googling the f out of this without getting any smarter.

I have a similar issue but there is a temporary workaround at least for me. Have custom keybinds for your DE to move windows left/right or screen left/right and activate use them to get it to the next monitor. Try get it into windowed mode and stay there if you don't mind that too much.

I've notice not that it sometimes work if i do that. It's not consistent tho.
And if i tab out i have to drag it to the other screen and do the whole thing again.
I might just stop playing CS instead, seems like the easier route :lunar2019piginablanket:

Same thing has just happened to me, but with Arma 3.

My solution was to:

1. Open Nvidia X Server Settings and disable the offending monitor.
2. Run game once and close
3. Re-enable offending monitor
4. Run game again, seems to remember the last monitor it used.

Not the most elegant solution, so if someone knows better, please share.

Yeah, i got that to work but not as intended. It starts on the right monitor but in the background so i have to superkey it out, and that messes up the image, so i have to drag it to the left one and set up the resolution and window mode etc. This game just don't like linux at all.

Yes, i will. So far the community have been really friendly when asking "dumb" questions, i really don't want to go back to windows so i have a few months of reading and learning to do :)

OT: Oh , beautiful nature but very harsh winter :D

It was cold. ;)

OT: Yeah, there's a couple of months of that :D

I found this on protondb (what a great source for information) and it works for me:
"launch options: SDL_VIDEO_MINIMIZE_ON_FOCUS_LOSS=0 %command% -nojoy ingame console: sdl_displayindex 0 (try -1 or 1 and relaunch the game every times to see if this change anything".
If the game don't minimize it at startup, there's no problems with the resolution, i can even tab out and use the super key. I'm a happy guy again!

If you have some free/spare time, try to read about xrandr (if youre using X11 instead of Wayland). You can do lots of things with xrand, to solve some dual head issues...
