KDE (Kubuntu 17.04) Taskbar gets stuck upon game launch
I have a strange bug that I can't seem to resolve by enabling/disabling the steam overlay or the any obvious (to me) settings.

Basically, upon first launch of Steam after a system restart, once a game is launched, the taskbar becomes stuck, visually. It still operates, but it isn't redrawing.

Once you exit the game, the taskbar finally redraws itself and works fine.

Even more strange, if you start another game later... The taskbar gets stuck again, but it shows all the visuals from the first time it was stuck (including applications, time, etc).

It seems like something blocks the taskbar from redrawing. Anyone encounter anything similar? I'll post a video soon to help explain.

Go into KDE Plasma's system settings, from there go to Display and Monitor > Compositor and turn off "Allow applications to block compositing".

Yeah, that resolved it.

Although, if compositing is still on the entire time, there may be a performance penalty, or no?

Thanks for the help... This only happened on one of my computers, the others didn't have this problem...
