Standard version vs Definitive Edition

What are differences? I have standard (not avaiable od Steam now, but working). Reasons to buy this version (not counting pvp).

They fixed the netcode that would hang and desync. (ON PC VERSIONS)

That alone is worth the $8.10 USD

Also, DOTEMU did NOT previously own the rights to the title.

played it 3 times through... never had a "desync / hang" ... but i also did not play online (was this even possible" ? )
then they should make an "pvp version" / "arena version" 'only' out of it....
and only because sb bought the rights of an old game does not mean they are "free" to just "resell it for a higher price again" :D
but em okay.... fanboy(?) feel free to buy it.... I just made it on the ignore list and changed my review from very positive on the original game to negative - also to "warn" others from this "scam"

I still play the original to this day because there's just nothing like it.

The only way I would even consider giving this a look would be if they improved the AI...but even still...would need a mod to replace that godawful new art...

This "remake" is really odd. The game isn't that old, hasn't aged at all and wasn't in need of a remake in the first place.

I could have gotten behind it if there was a new campaign or at the very least a new faction and a new hero per faction but ONE new character EXCLUSIVE to multiplayer? WHAT?

This is crazy lol.

At least I guess it reminded me of this existence of the original and made me want to download and play it again so yay to that I guess?

I tend to agree, especially with the downgrade in character portraits and, apparently, no colorblind setting. However, I bought it anyway because this is one of my favorite games of all time and $8 to show support and continued interest in the series to a new developer is worth it as an investment to me.

Very sad there are not many new things. The character portraits are a downgrade. ONE new character for multiplayer? Wow. Shouldn't have been that hard to add or create a few more. At least the multiplayer matches won't stop or lose connection in the middle of the game. I will buy this "new" version anyway since i love the original a LOT and to show interest to see more (new DLC or Clash of Heroes 2) in the future.

I don't know about Xbox,just about switch,but ive played both versions,DS and Switch(first one completed 100%) and this one is far beyond better,this one NOT is a remake,is a remaster,a reboot enhanced,and YES,in the begginning the final bosses of every campaign actually can be played even earlier to go through
Too,many artifacts(many useless in DS) was buffed and reworked and now is so much useless than were, visuals is better,with/without different portraits and the gameplay experiencia is so far better,for me

I think my favorite part about this remaster is that Anwen is now actually wearing a shirt. You could get away with that in 2009 on the DS because the resolution was so low but there really needed to be a shirt in the first HD remaster.
