How to understand lane damage/defense?
I've played an hour of the game and liking so far but I wish combat was better explained.

Can someone please give me a dummy's guide to assessing a lane to understand what damage/defense is going to occur?

I know my wall prevents 3 damage, but what if I have a charged unit/idle unit(s) etc?

If we both have units attacking next turn who goes first etc?

Stuff like that, thanks!

walls of each faction have different HP also depending if the wall is big small or damaged, if you look in your troop index they have an HP statt which is their HP while idle when they are in Formation they have the HP that would be their damage, so for example your charged Unit has 8damage and gets attacked by a United with 5 damage your charge Unit survives with three HP hope this helps if you have more questions just add me i can help

Same goes for idle units lets say you have 3 idle units with 2 HP each it gets attacked by a unit with 7 damage he will get to your HP Bar at the bottom with 1 damage there are a few exceptions to this rule like the spearman ans horse knight

Units will count down at the beginning of their turn. So in cases where you and your opponent have units that will attack in 1. The opponents unit will launch when you end your turn.
I'm guessing this question was more related to when you were playing 2 players on the same side, but (Even though I haven't played the multiplayer in... is it 10 years since it first released?) I think this works the same as when you have more than 1 unit that will charge in the same turn.
I think the order is by color. And I have assumed that it goes by what color you fused first.

There used to be some decent guides online, that should still be around. I have noted that I can't check my opponents units as easily with keyboard (I believe this was fairly easy in the old version) and this is one thing I am missing.
The breakdown above might be better... Here is more text I guess. :D

Every attack that is sent don't a line will have a power value. For every health it has to go trough, it will be lowered by an equal amount. If there is any power left, it will be dealt to the opponent.
If it attacks a charging unit, it will have to lower it's "power/health" to 0 for it to be removed.
If it's an idle unit. It will lower the power by it's health value. But as long as there is at least 1 power, the unit will be removed/die.
Special units will have some special rules. And some of the core units have extra rules as well.

In case this has been overlooked. There is a key that will show some extra numbers (Like idle health) on the battlefield.

(Having played some more. I can't see a simple pattern for the order it launches the attacks. This is something that could be relevant. And I would like to know how it works... But I don't think it would matter much when you are planning out most rounds.)
