Among Us is $5 with no DLC, I don't see how these two game are comparable.
Also since there's a sale its currently $3 and $8 if you want it bundled with the VR version.
I don't own the game so I wouldn't know that, also the only version of the game I've ever played was the garbage phone one years ago.
All in all at this point that game might as well be $1 or just free, microtransactions would add to that reasoning also.
I personally would consider it a pretty big IP, especially since it stated a trend and resurgence of the Social Deduction genre.
Tho like most game that are at least somewhat quality, it make sense to be paid at least if they know people will play it (in the case for online only games).
For me tho I never bought Among us mainly cuz its not worth it since I've played the phone version and thought the game was boring af outside of the port being garbage.
Can't you sell Items tho for Dota? Its one thing when you can sell the microtransaction but majority of games don't have that so no microtransactions being skins doesn't make it fine imo.
That's just how I am tho, I legit can't stand microtransactions of any kind since they're literally worthless unless your dumb enough to sell your account.
When Among Us was created the developers didn't have to buy the rights since they created the game themselves.
Death Note is an IP and as such anything that is created for it has to pay to get the rights to make any sort of merchandise.
They were already pretty generous making it only a 10 dollar game when most anime games are insanely priced sometimes. I don't see a problem with micro-transactions as long as they have no effect on the game which, thankfully, in this game's case has only a cosmetic part.
Umm... are u sure you know what IP means? Both Death Note and Among Us are IP's. The people that made the game even have guidelines related to use of it as well.
Everything else was just yap text.
I guess he knows since the Death Note was an Pre existing IP with its "universe" made by some other ppl
Among us has no other "IP" more or less attached to it that needed to be bought for its "univrse"
An "IP" is literally just the product that's been created, it has nothing to do with a universe or mass appeal (those are what makes it established).
Among Us within itself is what makes it an IP, something being more established means its branch passed its original state. Among Us at this point has done that without making more games by being part of the wider culture.
Among us didn't have to buy it's IP. Hence it doesn't need to increase the price in order to get money back. You are correct Among Us is an IP I didn't say it wasn't, I said when it was created they didn't have to buy it.
The people who made this game had to buy said IP, as such they can't just release this for free otherwise they'd lose money. Not only are they paying the programmers and any artists and such they are also paying a company to have the rights to Death Note.
Among us didn't have to buy it's own IP, since it was creating the game. The only expenses (if any since they're an Indie studio) was paying the developers and programmers.
Unless they spend practically nothing making the game they already didn't make much money. Also you know F2P phone games make more money than the entirety of the console and PC space right. So they could definitely make money from it being a F2P game especially if you can play it on a phone. Plus its fing Death Note, why wouldn't someone check the game out if it was F2P and if its somewhat good with mircotransactions then the whales with dump hella money into it.
