Armageddon crashes

Recently my Hoi2 complete with Armageddon started crashing. It will load all the up too the single player screen. The credits, and tutorial work. Then it sends me back to windows. How do I fix this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It says "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will notify you if a solution is found.'' Please and Thanks

What is you OS? Are you running it in compatability mode? Have you verifed the game cache? Are you loading a corrupt game save?

Windows 8.1. I don't know what that is. I don't know how to do that. No... well, I'm not sure. The game would load fine before. Now when I click on single player it gives me the boot.

I verified the game cache. Could you please explain compatability mode? It seems the screen resolution changes. My res is 1366x768.

go to \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron 2 Complete Pack
Right click on HOI2 application then choose compatibility.

It just lets the program think it's working on an older operating system.

I'm on Win10 and have it set as Win7.
I didn't need it when I was running on Win 8.1

Can you run HOI2 with no problem?

Hoi 2 runs good. I verified the game via steam. I fixed the problem by right clicking on Hoi2/properites/local files. Then I copied the saved games in Doomsday.

Then I unistalled and reinstalled the game. On a side note, Hoi will save your games from the previous unistall/reinstall.

That didn't fix it, so I deleted the last save from that game and it works now. So hats off to you sir. It was a corrupt save game file.

How do uncorrupt a saved game? That was my best saved game ever.

use the compatibility options for your hoi2.exe set on windows 7, this work fine
