Is it a piece of FMV that kicks in? Maybe it's a codec problem? I have tried running it in compatibility mode, both Win2K and 98/ME but it made no difference.
I have verified the game's files and rebooted, the files were verified 100% already and nothing has changed.
I have tried routing sound through 0/1 which is the sound card plus all the nice KX extras (not all games like this) and through 2/3 which is straight through to the card, no extras (this has always worked in the past). I even tried increasing buffer sizes and latencies but nothing helped, it always stopped right at the same point. I guess it's one of those weird incompatibilities that no one expects. I even tried disabling Xfire (the game tracking program) and the Steam overlay, but nothing made any difference.
If you want to furnish me with a save for that point, I'll happily do any tests you want. Just so you know!
