End combo does not work?

I put off burning the end combo (magnet, fireflies, exterminator, sunglasses) until I managed to find al 99 combo's. Then I set all the stuff on fire....nothing. Just nothing, AT ALL! I know that there's supposed to be a combo (error combo), then trembling and then you need to click the counters...I already looked that up since I wondered what I did wrong

I tried burning them in several orders since with some combos I have had this problem where they didn't burn simultanuously (enough) and I didn't get the combo even though the combo was right. So I tried this combo about 30 times now but it just won't work.

Where did I go wrong? I obviously burned all the letters I received to create space, should I have kept the last one? Or...? I am pretty upset about this since I spent almost 10 hours to find every combo and now can't finish the game >__<

I also found this online: "To get to the ending of the game, read one of Sugar Plump's mail, then after that, four boxes are found near, (items listed here)"

In my case I never received any boxes? I had to buy the items myself. I have a full length table for boxes so it's not that there was not enough room.

Did you buy everything in the last catalog?

Yes. I have al 99 combo's plus the achievement of buying everything at least three times.

I did. I finished the story, got the letters that I had to burn those 4 items. But I didn't want to do it immediately, because I wanted to find the other 99 combo's first. So I did...and now it doesn't work.
