- First worth mentioning that it's been reported that some mods simply don't help the game run. I'll detail which mods I personally deleted.
- Character loader which is no longer supported in 1.9
- Mods Option menu; Custom Stage Loader; Replay2mp4; Replay+; Custom character UI;
- Some other mods I've heard others mention wouldn't work: Audio Volume Slider; Needs More Steam; Z-Axis Library; Colored Portraits; stageloader
- Once all that is clear, worth checking which mods are missing dependencies and remove those.
- Then with all of that done and updated, clear character cache and verify the integrity of the files.
And last but most important of them all, before every game, first head over to single player and simply let the character select load, you know, enough to show you all the mods available to you, this goes for both you and whoever you're planning to fight, then get online and try matching. It's a little tedious but this last step seems to be the most consistent in leading to matching up, from there we were able to get around 4 games in a row.
It's not an ideal solution, but as a temporary fix if you really want to get back into the game, hope it works out for you.
I need to credit the discord server "Your only Move is Modding" and the Yomi Hustle reddit for all of this info.
