Haven't had a chance to play new match to test fresh replay.
-edit-
I've gotten some of the replays to play without crashing, but something is wrong:
The fighters have started missing each other. the replay never ends, both fighters standing staring at each other, neither dead, and the timer ticking down.
idk why the dev couldn't just have the replays save as mp4 files instead of making his own special file type that repeats lines of code to recreate the match in-game. the former seems like it'd be way less prone to these kinds of bugs.
Probably has a lot due to the ability to stop a replay at any time and try different moves at any point in the time stream.
I've already gone back to a REALLY down to the wire match and tried to see what I could have done differently to save my ass.
well, then maybe it could save as both types, but idk if that's a ridiculous ask or not.
in general there needs to be a more convenient way to share replays. right now the only way to really share them online is to screen-record them yourself, which is pretty cumbersome even when they don't crash the game. i get that the dev is one guy who is primarily a musician and not a game designer (iirc) but it seems like a really basic thing that just...isn't there.
This is a pretty lightweight game. Making it automatically save mp4s instead of a ledger of actions would make it pretty bloated in terms of space and processing compared to how it is right now.
Replays should work if you play it on the previous version. Does anyone know if you can download older versions of the game?
again, the replay wasn't made on the previous version, so that's not gonna help.
and this game is going to get larger from any update or added feature. if something shouldn't be added because it might make the game less lightweight, then this game should never be updated again by that logic.
Oh I didn't understand that replays in general were just broken now. My bad.
*shrug*
just sharing my experience.
I cleared the cache many times and ONLY used Gojo and Sukuna but the game still crashes
