To clarify, I`m not questioning here if the game is good or not, I think it`s a pretty good game, but sales speak over everything.
But it is not about the amount of units, it's about the correlation between the production cost and money earned from sales. RE6 cost a lot because there are 4 full blown campaigns in it. DLCs cost much less to make, yet if at least 1/4 of those people who bought RE6 buys those, it's already more than a million units. Which is insanely huge for a DLC. For enormous original RE6 they needed 6 millions copies sold to earn on it, yet for cheaper DLCs they don't need such sales. Basic arithmetics.
DLCs for multiplayer were easier to make because all modes are basically a conversion from Mercenaries mode, I mean, all mp modes use the same stages with a few variations and same characters changing only their loadouts. A driven DLC mode would involve whole new stages, cutscenes and probably also enemies.
What ever, RE Revelations is gonna sell less than RE 6. Let's wait and see. RE Survival horror means small audience and less money. I have played all the RE games and RE 6 is def. my fav. Played Revelations and it was damn boring. Anyways, I would love to see some DLCs as am still enjoying RE 6 even after 120+ hours of playing it
