WOW! Ada'a crossbow quick shot is awesome!

Ada auto reloads the crossbow by the end of the animation and it pins the enemy to the ground free for melee execute. It's also damn accurate.

I've considered default Ada a weak mercs character so far but this might change my mind.
Well it definatelly puts her above Ex-Helena at least! :)

Initially I never realized that there were weak or strong characters when playing mercs, I just picked default Ada a lot since she's my favourite character. Now I'm so used to her style that I get a bit clumsy playing as anyone else.

Reasons I don't like her.

1: Crossbow bolts needs at least 2 shots in stomach to enable to you instant kill with melee.
2: It instant kill with headshot but if you want combo points that isn't a good option.
3: The SMG is by far the worst weapons in the game. Pierces SMG is better imo. This one just doesn't feel good at all.
4: Explosive arrows doesn't always kill.
5: Crossbow is a pain to aim with.

Is Helena Ex the first costume for her? If so, I would still pick her over first Ada because 1 red herb and 1 healing spray. Sniper is better at dealing with stronger enemies as well. Can quickshot that for a decent amount of damage.

The quickshot is great for explosive bolts.
I found it somewhat useless for normal, throwing an enemy to the ground with little damage is just not worth it imo, since it takes more time than other methods, and it throws it quite far to quickly kill it after.
Normal bolts is one shot kill headshots. Very efficient, but risky. If you miss, there's an awful long reload time.
Also, normal bolts can one shot kill the swarm insect (in campaign), which is really useful.

Of course there are much better mercs chars than default Ada but the awesome crossbow quick shot makes her more tolerable. :)

1. Well follow up the bolt wiih a dash, slide, or multiple melee hits. Still it would be sweet if 1 chest bolt + melee killed.
2. It's handy for killing lot of mooks fast but you miss out on melee time bonus.
3. Ammo Box is indeed terrible. It has a large clip though so no need to reload often.
4. Yep, explosive arrows inconsistency suck.
5. No really, at least not for me.

Helena EX has too sucky weapons (Ammo Box, Bolt-action sniper) and no heavy ordinance. 3 incendiary grenades are nice but that't it. If she had the semi-auto sniper that Jake Ex or Agent has she would be okay. Not because of the aiming but the dps vs bigger enemies. Also Ada's crossbow quick shot provides consistent melee execute opportunities with pin down.

The crossbow seems to do no damage, even in no mercy where the enemies are weak as hell.
