auto dodge
re6 PC lets you set keys for dodgeing in all 4 directions without needing to be in "aim mode".

At first I dismised this as useless because you would need to set a 3rd set of direction keys and a person only has 2 hands.
(in most games you have 2 sets of direction keys which can ether be 2 analogue sticks or a mouse and a keyboard).

I then considered the possibility of setting just 1 dodge key and using it in the same way as i would used a functions such as "jump" "crouch" "use" "run" ect

but i quickly found that only being able to dodge in a fixed direction was not very good.

anyway, I just read a forum which discusses which keys people use for moving.
the primatry discussion was arround WASD or QWES and it mentioned that some people used other keys such as the arrow keys or IJKL. This got me thinking

I used QWES
and in games which have a "lean"move i assign these to A and D
so perhaps i could assign the auto dodge to A and D so that i can dodge in both direcions.
I would still not have a forward and backward dodge option but do i realy need this?

Also since panic moments often result in a twitch of the mouse before i act volunterally, and beause in none panic situations i can always turn the mouse before pressing a key maybe A and D are all i need for dodgeing

any ideas people?

I use Z, X, and C for left, back, and right dodges respectively. Forward rolls are something that I rarely need to do anyway, so I just have duck(dodge) bound to ctrl, and press it + w whenever I need to roll under something.

With Q as partner action, E as mode select, R as reload, and Space for dashing/interaction, this works very well for all situations as someone who always uses WSAD for movement.

I have a mouse with 3 side buttons and a clickable wheel (i click down to scroll thru items rather than weapons) so i dont need to assign all thoes functions to the keyboard

Yeah, I know that since I got the game but never actually used keys for dodge. I guess im pretty good with default keyboard setting) Though for some ppl possibility of using keys for auto dodge can be useful, but for me it is just an unneeded possibility. But i must say that i use keys set for auto reply to your partner, cause sometimes during some fights or action it can be difficult to use V+key for answering or command to the other player) So the hot keys for auto reply is very useful for me)

I use my pinkie to dodge in a flash, it's ultra handy for sure.

I play with TGFH instead of WSAD, and my dodge keys are R and Y for dodging left and right, D for rolling forwards and N for jumping backwards. Works like a charm.

That is effecivly the same as WASD with Q+E as support keys.
the only difference is the distance from the mouse and SHIFT, CTRL, ALT and SPACE keys

most players use shift, ctrl, alt and space for things so what do you use in place of these 4 keys?
