Your Best & Worse Mercenaries Character

Pick one for each for Normal and EX loadout.

Normal
Best - Chris : A rifle, a magnum and a knife. Quick, clean and fast kills. Where could he go wrong?

Worse - Ada : Ammo Box is horrible. Crossbow is even more horrible. I always miss a lot with both weapons. I don't like the cartwheel flip she does when she's got the crossbow equiped, it always makes her fail dodging.

EX
Best - Leon : Great firepower. I would have said Sherry, but I don't like 1-clip grenade launchers.

Worse - Helena/Ada : Ada's Ammo Box 50 and Piers' MP-AF are both the same thing to me; a waste of bullets. Just having to use bolt action rifle most of the time's a kick in the nuts.

Best: Agent/Sherry - I work well with pistols, and having the kick ass gun as a back up is great for my play style. I don't like sniping much but I can stand it with Agent since hte pistol works 90% of the time. Sherrrys pistols are awesome.

Worst: Piers. See above, but his sniper isn't fun to use.

All Mercenaries Characters have good and bad sides. But tnx to Capcom all submachines are terrible, so all players who have it is worse. Im talking about shoot at face and fihish him mellee. If you wanna kill enemy with only gun then use Cris or Leon Ex because thay have powerfull guns. Characters like Ada is hard to play, so if you play good and want harded game choose Ada.

My favourite is default Jake, he has a nice pistol for headshot + melee kills, that is not too powerful to blow heads left and right without getting time bonuses (like Chris's machine-gun), but also not too weak when you need to waste a regular enemy fast; also he has a magnum that deals tons of damage to bosses and is useful for quick desperate combo saving kills, really good on long ranges as well. 10 tablets are nice too.
The weakest character must be default Ada, submachine-gun is bad and you have to reload the crossbow after every shot unless you waste stamina with quick shots. On top of that explosive arrows take time to explode, making quick kills with them impossible.

BEST: Agent. Auto-sniper AND First Aid Spray. Way too good

WORST: Jake #2. No handgun. Impossible xD

Hmm.

There's a lot of characters I like.
The top 3 would be Jake, Chris and Sherry though.

Chris really has everything you need with the assault rifle and the magnum.
Jake is a bit weaker, since he "only" gets a pistol instead of a rifle, but his hand-to-hand combat makes up for that easily.
With a good partner who takes care of the enemies you can't kill that easily with melee - you can go crazy with Jake's kung fu.
Pick Martial Arts Master as skill and go to town, you get a massive timebonus in the end, when all your kills are +5 seconds melee kills.

Well, Sherry is good because of one thing - the magnum.

The EX ones I really like is Pirate Leon, because the AK kicks J'avo butt with the bayonet, Schoolgirl Sherry, because of Bear Commander and 2 red herbs, and Jake's bro outfit, which seems odd, but is actually really great. Survival knife and sniper rifle is really all you need.

Hmm, the odd ones I never play are Helena ( in both outfits ) and Leon.
Ada isn't actually that bad, I did pretty well with her on High Seas Fortress.
You can deal with most enemies with counters or the ammo box 50, when the bigger guys show up later you can always crossbow quickshot them with explosive arrows.

I like coach and rochelle (LFD/no mercy only)
Coach has a shotgun as his basic weapon and both a magnum and a rocket.
Rochelle has a magnum which she actually gets ammo drops for. Her SMG is crap but you can now be liberal with your use of magnum rounds.

I swear that I have the hardest time using the crossbow well due to the arc and slow projectile speed. And as you said, Box50 is horrendous.

Just FYI, but in No Mercy you get drops for weapons on all characters that you don't in normal mercs, such as magnum ammo. That isn't specific to Rochelle.

Loadouts that I love:
Default Jake, Chris(Default and EX), Sherry (Default and EX)
the others are ok other with Default Ada, Helena EX having horrible loadouts.

with No Mercy on top of it,
Rochelle and Nick I love with Coach and Ellis' loadouts not being as likable for me, Rochelle ftw! That Elephant Killer!

Are you using crosshairs or laser aim?

Because I found out that when you use crosshairs the aimpoint is dead center of the screen, when you are using the laser aim it's a bit to the left (when your character is on the left side of the screen).

The crossbow seems to be always a bit to the left, doesn't matter which aiming method you are using.

Also, with laser aim the aiming point seems to move a bit more to the left the closer your target is, and together with the crossbow's weird aiming dots it's tricky to get used to.

If you aware of these little things the crossbow isn't actually that bad.

In no mercy, Rochelle, no doubt. Super powerful magnum plus lots of grenades.
I normal mode Jake and Sherry with her extra costume.

I always use the laser. That's partially why I'm so pissed at Capcom for taking the laser out of the revelations port. :P

The real problem is the travel time, since you aren't always dealing with enemies that are totally still.

Best- Carla Handgun good for any type of enemy, Granade launcher to go all noob on things ;D

Worst-Chris....i mean come on

Best Ex- Piers, Has actual useful guns D: (exept ammo box)
Worst EX- Helena.... that isnt worthy of being called a costume its just a plain joke
