Increase Item drop rate Perk Question

Hey ho players!
Does the increased item drop rate perk increase ammo and normal Items? What's the difference between this and the specific "more ammo for that weapon" perk? Does it make sense to combine them?

I have used both ammo increase and item drop increase and I never noticed getting more of anything besides maybe the useless 50-100 skillpoint drops. I wouldn't bother using them.

I've noticed this too. I've also tried combining item drop with specific ammo drop, but it didn't help much either, I think the difficulty setting (this was on veteran) had too much influence for it to be noticeable. I've also noticed that if you're low on ammo for a weapon, ammo for that specific weapon drops far more often.

I was playing on normal at the time, and there still wasn't much of a change in the ammo amounts.

The "More Ammo For that Weapon" Perk only allows you to HOLD MORE AMMO. It does NOT increase the ammo drop rate for ammo for that weapon.

It's not. It states that you can pick up more ammo for a certain weapon type. Nowhere does it say that the drop chance of said ammo type would be increased.

But then i would use the common description of "ammo capacity" and not "more ammo"

heh, i thought the "more ammo" perks meant a higher drop rate as well. Yeah, they definitely failed the description with that one.

Anyway, personally i feel i see a difference with the increased item perk. almost every enemy disolves to something instead of only about 50% of enemies. The extra skill point items are fine by me, still quite a few skills i want upgraded.

guys im sorry to wake up a 11 years post, but most new players come here to this information so i just tested it, the "more ammo perk" does not double the amount of ammo you can carry neither increase the amount you get per pick up as some people here and some internet forum said, it actually increases the drop rate! The fandom wiki is very wrong lolol

the more ammo perk INCREASES THE DROP RATE not the amount you can carry nor the amount you pick up on one drop of that ammo type.
