Chris - Chapter 5 - Escape the BOW
I can't believe the amount of garbage in this part.

First, half the time trying to get on the ladder the que to climb doesn't appear. However the BOW doesn't knock you off the ladder though. No it waits until you have climbed on to the first and second ledges and are running. The program is programmed to waste your time.

The first time you have to do a hoist up, sometimes the que to hoist is hard to get in position for.

Then after the first hoist you are running along for the camera angle swings slowly completely round. I actually can not see my character. The first couple of tries at this bit I managed to keep moving. Since then I haven't managed it and I run into the wall. I can't see which way to turn because I can't see my character.

I searched online about it and found a youtube vid that shows how to do it. The video poster says it took him about 100 attempts, and he nearly smashed his controller.

I have done about sixty attempts and given up for today. This isn't the only time in Chris mission I had this. The start of chapter 3 was the same across the boats, though I did that in about thirty attempts. (There was quite a bit of rubbish in the Leon campaign too.)

This is the reason I never buy games at full price. A good game is playable in the hard parts on more than middle difficulty setting. A good game throughout has you constantly looking forward to playing it again. RE6 is a game I don't think I can play all of on middle 'veteran' setting. I paid £7 and I feel short changed as I can't complete even half of it. (I sold my DVD copy of RE5 unfinished too.)

Sorry that was a bit long and rambling. I had been forgetting to slide under the obstacle: youtube saved me. I got it within about twenty more tries. I got stuck very soon later, and gave up again. I'll be OK though. (The timed event at the start of Chris chapter 3 made me scream though.)

Shame really since a lot of the Leon campaign was good. The first chapter was good and the second, get to the catherdral was epic. The Leon boss was bad though.

It's not all bad, but I posted when I was feeling bad about it. Occasionally it's near perfect.

Kill the Gigantic BOW.

This part is as bad.

The dialogue tells us:
Chris; It just keeps coming back. You have to kill it while it's in its cocoon.

That is incorrect, you have to attack it while it is climbing out of its cocoon.

While it climbs out Piers says: Now's our chance - fire.
That is incorrect again. You have to stab it.

I had to consult youtube after many failed attempts. Firing at it while it was in its cocoon emptied ammo. Must have taken fifty attempts.

All in all it must have taken me five hours to deal with this BOW. (Then to add insult to injury they force you to sit through the credits. I have them running now minimised.)

You can skip the credits with backspace.

Man, I am playing this campaign right now for the first time and holy moly is it atrocious.
Overall, action is really good. But amount of times I happened to face enemies without a single bullet is ridiculous. You can manage against non-bosses, but I can't imagine how one would fight against these tanks from cocoons. Ugh.

Anyway! I am writing this to share my stupid story. So, remember that segment when the BOW hangs underwater onto the capsules (or wth is this), you fall down, have to crawl up, then run until the doors are closed?

So, this is the section WHERE I managed without a single bullet! CAN YOU IMAGINE?!?!?!?!
I have to shoot the thing so it would let me in, but I can't. I just repeatedly die because I'm stuck.

Fortunately, I happen to have just two hand grenades. First few tries I wasted both on the first arm, then I noticed that one good throw is enough for the arm to go up. And I thanked the heavens that I do not have to replay the whole chapter.

Jesus...

Oh and by the way the first fight, just before the section above, I also ran out of ammo. Happened to have a lot of the same hand grenades. I did not know whether I was shooting where I'm supposed to, but after being emptied I just threw all the grenades. Somehow it died, and I got left with just the two grenades for further escape. Man, this is unbelievable!
