Is someone else missing Jill and Claire?

I still can't understand why Capcom didn't use Jill and Claire as some of the main characters in Resident Evil 6. I mean the game should be some kind of jubilee for the Resident Evil franchise, so it should be taken granted that all four Resi veterans appear in the game and not only Chris and Leon. It could have even be so easy to build them in. The university in Tall Oaks could have been the uni where Claire studied before the disaster of Raccoon City and she returned there, because of the President's visit. And Jill simply would have been Chris' BSAA partner again.

I really hope that Jill and Claire reappear in Resident Evil 7 again, maybe even as the only main characters, as some kind of redemption. Especially Claire needs to return, due to that her last appearence as a main character was in Code Veronica.

Eh, it was Chris n Leon probably because the who's the best thing going on at the time.
And hey. RE6 already has 3.5 campaigns, which tried to cover most of characters that people liked (poor Wesker). And Jill got entire game. As in Revelations.

It's really hard to say what Capcom will do with RE7, since they're gathering fan feedback yet again.

Well, because of Resident Evil Degeneration and some documents in Resident Evil 6, I think Claire is now more like a supportive role in background story. Unless she gets some real bad luck again, which already happened 3 times... she won't have much opportunities to get into a fight like Chris, Jill and Leon does considering her job.

Yes, i miss Jill the most. She was and still is my favorite female in the Resident evil world.I wnat campcom to bring her back.

Honestly, for RE7, they should make 4 campaigns again. One where you play as Claire, one where you play as Jill, and then a co-op one where they partner up. That could be used to explain why they never came looking for Chris in RE6. Could make those prequel campaigns the "Survival Horror" theme. Maybe even use it as a chance to finally kill off a "veteran" character.

Then, for the action fans, they should make a campaign for Jake, post-RE6 after his body has fully adapted to the C-Virus, and just make it crazy over-the-top action. His campaign could have the in-depth combat mechanics of RE6. Whereas Jill and Claire would have a simpler set of core mechanics for their campaigns, more similar to Revelations. Better yet, use the core mechanics from RE6 minus quickshotting, but make dodging only reduce damage if executed during attack frames (Dead Space 3), not nullify it. Along with making melee less effective for Claire and Jill. Maybe with limb damage mechanics, sanity, and hallucinations to create a more dynamic horror experience?

I hope they don't go the split campaign route again, it's terrible. I want one big story not split off and cheaply jigsawed together.

I somewhat agree with this, mainly the latter. Really miss Rebecca (and Billy)!

Yeah, although I doubt that Billy survived after leaving Rebecca. I mean the whole forest was full of zombies and he was alone.

I don't know if I miss Jill, since capcom doesn't use Julia Voth as her face model for its last 2 games ( Rev and ORC ) and as for the Claire, yes I do miss her a lot! I can only hope that Capcom would makes her as a Main character in the next installments. aside from those characters. I'd like to see new unexperienced character in the next resident evil.

Like the other person said, Claire was made into a support/protest character sadly. Does not mean she will not come back but she really does. In fact it gives her a good reason to "investigate" an infected area or something.

I can understand taking a break from Jill after RE5's story though, but it is time for her to return hopefully. Same with Rebecca, fans wondering what happens to her is one of the bigger franchise requests.

I didn't read it by myself, but in the Resident Evil book nr. 2 "Caliban Cove" Rebecca appears again. Maybe you can read there what happened with her after the Raccoon City disaster.

I don't know. At least the books to Resident Evil Zero, three and Code Veronica seem to be cannon, because they follow the events of the games. So I suggest the other books are canon as well.

As far as I've read, the books aren't canon (Claire even kills Mr. X with an SMG in the book, rather than an RL).

Ok. Honestly I never checked if they're canon or not. I just read the books I have and thought they would be canon, since the books I mentioned are describing what happens in the games as well. Speaking of it, do you know which of the books is based on Resident Evil 2? I don't know it sonce they aren't in a chronological order.
