and I think differently: RE6 is a terrible game because those sequences ruin the game. every single chapter for every single character has those terrible moments. my most hated is Chris-5 where he runs away from Chaos. those constant camera cuts, inverted control, abundance of QTEs - just so awful. plus lots of those filler chapters for no purpose but to waste player's time like Ice Cavern in Sherry-2 or the whole Leon-4 chapter
yes, I hate every single of those sequences, but the weirdest thing is - I really like the combat: melee, dodges, weapon swaps, inventory management - all that stuff is really fluent and swift (once get pass a baffling idea that you must press RMB + SPACE + WASD to dodge). but the campaign is terrible. I mostly play Mercenaries
I mean let's look at just the grasshopper enemy, you can slide into their legs to force them to fall down, you can duck under their double kick, you can use flash grenades to heavy stun them or even use acid rounds, you can chuck an incendiary in their face, killing them or you can chuck it to the side of them so they get lightly broiled and set into a heavy stun, you can force them to attack you by quickshotting them to prompt a counter-attack, you can do the ole shoot face kick butt and that's just one enemy (Merce also using generalized health when it comes to enemies whereas Campaigns love to give some enemies ten times the health for no reason) But the combat is probably the part that has made it so that the game isn't ruined for you yet, jocko, you should give merce a try, you have two recommendations now LOL
The Chris+pier chase in the car sometimes randomly moves slower if playing coop even if doing the EXACT same things........Reloading can fix the issue.........and the car moves as intended.......like 500 meter difference..........
The snow mobile escape sucks too,controls are horrible,hitboxes are dark souls 2 worthy.
Imo forced stealth sections could have been cut too.....or make them optional.....too mcuh time wasted.QTE to pick up a key..........come on..........
The 4 door in jake chapter 2 is almost impossible on pro/no hope with mouse+keyboard even if you are twice as fast as RE 4 smash QTES on pro,while with controler it works well.........only reason I could pass it...........with half the effort compared to mouse and keyboard.Leon chapter 4 is also easier with controler in QTE........
Game could have cut out the above or make them cutsences or make them much shorter or better yet polish their hitboxes,QTE timings and such for BOTH controler and mouse............RE 6 has many content but certanly lacks polish and real play testing in many areas.........
Also slightly more Iframes for a few player things,you litteraly can get stunlocked by one machine gun without getting up.RE 4 and 5 had it right with I frames.
RE 6.....Reminds me of Evil Within 1 explosive bolter(very rarely used by Haunted) stunlocking/knocbacking you untill you die with no way to get up.........once he hit you once.
No I frames in cutsences,Zombie is jumping at the player is shooting oh look unskipable cutsence interupts player action,cutsense ends player lost the same HP as if he failed the zombie QTE.........with zero chance to do qte or dodge it.....
Player aiming at JAVOs cutsense happen,player aim reset,Javo aims and fire an RPG,new cutsense happen about bomb,player aim resets again and dies from the RPG once cutsense ends,litterally happened to us in COOP a year ago.
WE laughed.....as we got 2 scripted events happening in 5 seconds from eachother reseting our aim,position twice resulting in our death............Chris chapter 2........
Mercenaries where the combat can shine without unscripted BS happening beyond the players control.
But yeah RE 6 certanly have many polish issues in the campaign.
Anyway my friend told me this. re 6 is a game which at that time the company leader kinda pushes around his subordinate to make new resident evil game while they dont even know what to do and not in a good mood. so here we are with re 6
I had to quit split screen, finish the sequence solo then have my friend join back after checkpoint.
