It may happen one day and the ending of RE4 Separate Ways remake sets it up, but Capcom could be doing anything else at the moment.
I like this game and RE6, don't get me wrong but you can't classify either as survival horror - they're action horror without the scares.
7 Arguments against a remake:
1. Horribly linear level design. Even COD wasn't as linear as RE6 and the back half of RE5
2. Balanced, but not really fun gun play mechanics.
3. Over-reliance on bullet sponge type enemies for boss design
4. Story is too broad and is difficult to follow on the first pass - to make it cohesive you'd almost have to break RE6 into 3 separate games like FF7 or resort to cheap asset recycling like RE6 did initially.
5. There is no sense of vulnerability which has been an asset to the better RE titles. In this game, every character plays like a version of John Wick in a Michael Bay film with access to trans-dimensional pockets of ammo.
6. There are better RE games to remake - RE5&6 will be at the bottom of the barrel. CVX, Outbreak file 1&2, Revelations 1&2 and arguably zero deserve a remake before 5&6
7. You also have to factor in that RE5&6 nearly destroyed the franchise - we didn't see another main line game for almost a decade after RE6. Its going to take an exceedingly brave team to tackle a remake of either of these AND have it be backed by Capcom. While not impossible, I would say its highly unlikely anyone will ever want to take a chance on these two until all other viable avenues have been thoroughly milked first.
BUT - if they ever do remake these two and it goes well, the development team responsible will earn themselves legendary status.
