help with possible bug in ada wong car chase?

hi, i'm playing the chris campaign with my boyfriend and we've gotten to the car chase with ada. my boyfriend is playing piers, and after a little trouble, managed to get his part done. when it's my turn to drive i am completely unable to boost (the bar never turns blue) and always lose her right after chris declares he's "gonna jump it". can anyone help?

If you're using gamepad, that's it, try switching to keyboard for the driving part. Long time bug that happened to me in all my playthroughs too. It just doesn't work properly with certain gamepads.
