Any help With Chris/Piers? Possible bug

So, Piers and I have just had the standoff over Ada with Leon and Helena, and a car chase begins.

Chris speaks on radio, informing HQ he's in pursuit, and as soon as I have control, the car flips and I die. Piers is AI controlled and driving, I'm on the turret.
I'm using keyboard and mouse, and it doesn't seem to matter what I do or don't press, the damn car flips before we've traveled three feet!

Is this a bug, or am I just a complete idiot and missing something obvious here?

Have you trie resintalling from scratch?
That's quite a unique bug you have there.

F**king car chases in this game have serious issues. Must be a bug, I'd say first of all try restarting the chapter from that point (I think it's 3-5 or 3-6) but play with the opposite character. There's a common bug about this part being impossible to clear if you play with gamepad, but yours seems to be a more unique case.

Possible, but harder for some. There are more people on consoles that have completed this game with gamepads than on PC.
