Also in RE critical and damage are two different things. You either land a hit that is critical or it deals damage. You can test this on a grounded zombie by perfoming a stomp. The stomp is 100% critical. But it only deals damage on non-critical hit zones or when the zombie wears a helmet. Some zombies survive even the most damaging attacks, but a single stomp on their head kills them instantly. Only the Bolt Action Sniper Rifle, Piers AMR and Adas Crossbow have a 100% crit chance. With those weapons the crit skill is also useless.
Well I was hoping this would make boss fights way easier by helping to deal damage to them, staggering them and such. Guess it is better to take damage boosters for damage then =/
Chris' 909 handgun for example is ridiculous, even more so with the crit skill. Look here for values:
