Why is Jake called Jake Muller?

Why isn't he called Jake Wesker?

Wesker did not know he had a son and must be his mother's surname.

Wesker, despite his badassness was a ♥♥♥♥♥ when it comed to be a father, so he just ran away like a bich. So, Jake stayed with his mother and kept her surname.

i think Albert knew he had a son, but prefered to keep his son away from his insanity and his world domination, he find love, he got to leave his love to avoid her to be killed by his project...

Don't you think that Wesker just wanted to have sex w/o any kind of feelings? That dude wanted to destroy humanity along with them. AND, both Annette and William loved Sherry, it's just that G-virus made William a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monster without any kind of self-awareness, plus Annette helps Claire to cure Sherry and tells that William didn't know what he's doing.

It's 1992 we're talking about. Wesker was then a mere researcher with a promising future in the Umbrella Corporation, not the mad terrorist who wanted to cover the whole planet with a virus to forcefully "evolve" mankind.

The game files aren't completely clear on whether Wesker knew he had a son or not, there this file implying he didn't:
