Push to talk ...ever fixed?
So I just bought the game and realized there is no push to talk key? Your mic is just..on at all times? I saw a few posts about this that are pretty outdated.

Has this ever been fixed? I can't figure out how to turn it off in game. It seems this has never been fixed. Is this correct?

No. It's still the same. Open mic as always.

Ahh, that's no good. This issue may result in my friends and I returning the game.

Has anyone come up with a work around?

Would have to turn mic chat volume all the way down in game from audio settings. That's only thing I see that would work. I usually do outside chat program or steam voice chat instead.

Yeah, we all use a 3rd party program to chat. However, having my mic transmit non-stop isn't that great. I'd prefer to disable or push-to-talk (which I'd just bind a key I'll never use and continue with 3rd party program to chat)

Ah well, thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

Just plug out the cable for your mic from your PC, Problem solved (at least for me)

That certainly would work if I wanted to disable my mic while I play, however as I'm playing I still want to have my mic enabled to communicate via TeamSpeak/Discord/Skype with friends. I just don't want it constantly being broadcasted while I play. At times I'm speaking to other people in person, taking a quick phone call etc. None of that needs to truly be broadcasted while I'm playing.

Well...
Since you're using a 3rd party program (Skype\Discord~Not related to steam in anyway)
Why don't you disable your microphone in steam overlay (SHIFT+TAB) ?
I'm not sure of this, but give it a shot.
Here's what you are going to do:
1- Open anygame.
2- HOLD SHIFT then press TAB.
3- Click on Settings at the bottom.
4- Choose the "voice" bar from the top.
5- You have many choices,
a-You can lower the voice volume or recieve.
b-You can bind a button.
(*a & b work for me in "steam voice call" I have not tested this)
Tell me if it works for you, you can add me in Steam if you want any help with Resident Evil 6, or even if you want to ask about anything more.

Have you tried the steam push to talk feature?
Just go to steam - setting - voice

Pick "Push to talk to transmit voice" then determine which key u want to use. Then click OK

Does this work? I just got the game and Im having the same exact issues. I wouldnt mind using the in game chat with one person but im always on teamspeak and my chat with friends always scares off co op players. I honestly didnt even know that there was game chat until i heard some background noise from another player. Also if anyone wants to play add me lol
